What I collect and why
Contact form
If you send me a message, I collect your name, email address, subject and message. It is emailed to me and stored in the website’s database so that I can reply. I keep messages for up to 12 months and then delete them. Legal basis: legitimate interests (answering your enquiry).
Readers Club newsletter
If you join the Readers Club, I collect your email address. It is stored with Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.), which may process data in the USA under recognised data-transfer safeguards. You will be asked to confirm your subscription, and every email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Security
To protect the site from hacking and spam, security software records visitors’ IP addresses and requests. These logs are kept for a limited period. Legal basis: legitimate interests (keeping the site secure).
Cookies
This site does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The only cookie it may set is a small functional one: if you close the Readers Club bar at the top of the page, a cookie remembers your choice so the bar stays hidden. It contains no personal information.
Links to other websites
This site links to Amazon, Goodreads and other websites. Once you leave this site, their own privacy policies apply.
Sharing your data
I do not sell your data or share it with anyone other than the services named above, which process it on my behalf.
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your personal data, to object to how it is used, and to withdraw your consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, please use the contact form.
